ACNEM returns to Sydney in November to present the four day Primary Modules in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (NEM), as well as two days each of Mental Health and A-Z of NEM.
Primary Course in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine
19-22 November, 4 days face-to-face, 2 months online access The Primary Course, ACNEM’s ‘flagship’ foundation training course in NEM contains 30 hours of content (lectures and discussion sessions) delivered over two days face-to-face and the equivalent of another two days of online lectures plus online discussion forums and other learning tools. The Primary Course is designed for GPs, registrars, specialists and other graduate healthcare professionals.
The course provides practical, evidence-based post graduate medical training in NEM, covering the key nutritional, environmental and biochemical factors affecting health and well-being. The course will provide you with new and improved treatment approaches to many conditions seen in primary care, with guidelines and practical tools for immediate integration in clinical practice.
19-20 November, 2 days face-to-face, 2 months online access
Many patients and clinicians seek non-drug based therapies to use alone or in combination with pharmaceuticals for mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and paediatric conditions such as autism and ADHD.
A comprehensive overview of evidence-based therapies for mental health disorders will be presented including an insight into the underlying physiological issues that may contribute to neurological, behavioural and social disorders. Hear the growing scientific evidence for the effectiveness of treatment modalities including nutritional recommendations, targeted individualised supplements, sleep hygiene, exercise etc. to modify brain biology and foster mental well-being. The course will include practical clinical applications of effective interventions to help with balancing brain biochemistry, mood and behaviour.
A-Z of NEM
This highly practical workshop is a favourite among ACNEM regulars and those who have recently completed the Primary Course. Join a dynamic and interesting group of expert ACNEM Fellows who have all successfully integrated NEM into general practice. Through open discussions and case history presentations common conditions will be discussed and unravelled using NEM principles. This workshop will deepen your understanding of NEM, hone your case taking skills, help you to identify relevant signs and symptoms of nutrient deficiencies, build on your treatment options and your confidence for improved patient outcomes.
